The Minister of Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has in an interview said Twitter has fulfilled all the terms and conditions laid down by the Federal Government to resume operation in the country.

Why it matters?
The micro-blogging, social media platform, Twitter was banned on the 5th of June 2021. The Government imposed the ban after the platform deleted the president’s tweet. Gen Buhari tweet violated Twitter’s community policy.
Speaking on Channels Tv on Monday, Festus Keyamo said that Twitter reached out to the Nigerian Government to resolve the issue. The Federal Government then inaugurated a committee which laid down some terms and conditions for the blogging platform to fulfill if it were to resume operations in Nigeria.

The Minister added Twitter has fulfilled those terms and conditions. President Buhari had on Democracy Day said that they would lift the ban after the committee set up to deliberate over the government’s relationship with the platform completed its job.
