Digital Challenger Bank “Kuda” To Partner with Visa to Issue Physical Cards.

Nigerian financial technologies Kuda bank is partnering with Visa to give its customers a physical and digital card to carry out services easier and better. This partnership would give Kuda Technologies a competitive edge over other Nigerian financial technologies and a mark on the world scale.
Why does it matter?
Visa is a leading digital payment platform in use in Nigeria and in other parts of the world. Kuda is Nigeria’s first mobile-only bank licensed by the Central Bank. Zero card maintenance fees, free transfers, and automatic savings. In the company statement, Kuda technologies claim they aim the move at driving the firm’s independent payment cards offering.
The Big Picture.
With this partnership, they are both bound to profit. On one hand, Visa will gain more visibility in Nigeria, while Kuda bank would gain more acceptance in the global market. In view of this, The Chief Executive Officer, Kuda Technologies, Babs Ogundeyi says that “We are proud that we have finally made this happen and we look forward to promoting cashless payments across in Africa together”.

The official statement released by the company says, “Kuda’s proposition of zero fees on cards, account maintenance and transfers and its low-interest credit offering delivered conveniently through smartphones and the web have made it particularly attractive to the millennial, and the bank now has almost two million customers in its launch country, Nigeria, where it operates as Kuda Microfinance Bank under a license from the Central bank of Nigeria.
