Emirates’ chief operating officer, Adel Ahmed Al-Redha, while speaking at the Arabian Travel Market, announced the airline plans to incorporate digital technologies into its daily operations in a bid to engage with customers faster and in a more flexible way.
- Emirates Airlines, one of the leading airlines in the world and under the United Arab Emirates (UAE), plans to accept the cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, as a mode of payment for passengers using the airline.
- The fifth airline in the world, according to Airline Ratings, would use blockchain technology to trace aircraft records.
- The official said the airline also has plans to recruit additional technological workers for metaverse and Non-Fungible Token (NFTs) to build apps to monitor consumer needs.
- The airline’s website would soon begin to feature NFT collectibles.
