United Arab Emirates.

The Federal Government, through the Director General of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Musa Nuhu has announced the restart of flights from Nigeria to the United Arab Emirates.

Why it matters.
UAE stopped flights from Nigeria and other African countries following the discovery of the omicron variant in Africa. In response to this, the Federal Government, through the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, then restricted Emirates flights to Nigeria to once a week.

A letter announcing the resumption of flights and endorsed by the Director General of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority reads “following the further consultations with various stakeholders and the letter from Dubai CAA with reference number DCAA/ASA/N-3/016 dated 17th December, 2021 offering Air Peace Airlines daily slots to Dubai airports, I wish to inform you the re-instatement of the ministerial approval of Emirates Airlines Winter Schedule.”
