The Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency, Kashifu Inuwa on Monday announced that the Federal Government is probing loan platforms over the breach in data privacy agreements.

While speaking to newsmen ahead of the forthcoming national privacy week 2022, Kashifu Inuwa said that the NITDA has sanctioned several loan companies over the breach of data privacy. He said that the agency is working with the Nigerian Police and other relevant agencies to ensure they curb this menace.
Reacting to the news, a tech policy analyst at Tech Hive Advisory Limited, Tolulope Ogundele has called on the FG to incorporate the private sector into tackling this problem. She said the expertise of the private sector would help the FG get a clearer picture of the lending sector.
