The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in its Weekly Bulletin announced that 1.4 million candidates out of the over 1.7 million registrants have so far participated in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) of 2022.
Current situation
The 2022 UTME exercise began on May 6th 2022 and is scheduled to end on May 16th 2022. UTME is currently collating results and analyzing it against the footage of the examination.
- Results of defaulters would be withheld or withdrawn in cases where UTME has released it.
Meanwhile
- Candidates in Onitsha and other parts of Anambra State couldn’t write the exams on Monday due to the enforced sit-at-home order. Examination centers were also closed to be reopened on Thursday, as directed by JAMB.
- The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) ignored public secondary schools’ candidates in the northern states of Nigeria, Sokoto and Zamfara.
- Reports say that while the Zamfara State government owes the examination body an enormous amount of money, Sokoto State chose to patronize other examination bodies, such as the National Examinations Council (NECO) and the National Business and Technical Examination Board.
