The chief superintendent and spokesman for the Nigerian Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, has announced the arrest of Abba Kyari and four other force men.
The Big Picture.
Abba Kyari, who was suspended by the Nigerian Police Force in August, 2021 for his ties with the Internet fraudster Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, is facing an indictment by the Nigerian Police Force and Federal Bureau of Investigation. NDLEA is also investigating him for his role in a 25kg drug deal. Before his suspension, Abba Kyari was the head of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team in Abuja.
According to Muyiwa Adejobi, the offenses leveled against Abba Kyari include unprofessional conduct, corruption and tampering of exhibits. He further added that they arrested the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police along with Sunday Ubuah, ASP Bawa James, Inspector Simon Agrigba, and John Nuhu.
Reports say that the Nigerian Police Force has handed Abba Kyari and his cohorts over to the NDLEA for further investigation.
