On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari canceled the scheduled meeting with the Governors of the All-Progressive Congress to attend the Europe-African Union Summit taking place in Belgium.

Reports say that some governors had arrived at the Presidential Villa in Abuja before realizing that the President had postponed the meeting. Governors sighted in the presidential villa were Ekiti state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, Cross River Governor Prof. Ben Ayade, Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Imo State’s Hope Uzodinma and Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
Speaking to newsmen on issues in the party, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma said the party should not concern itself with minor issues. The Governor, who had a private meeting with the President, stressed that what the party would move on with or without the National Convention.
