As the date for the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State draws closer, the leadership of All Progressive Congress in the state has set January 27, 2022 as the date for its primary election.

This announcement was in the statement released by the National Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John James Akpanudodehe.
The date, 27 January 2022, set by the leadership of the party, is 5days ahead of an initial date, 22 January 2022. Also, APC governorship aspirants have until 15th January to fill and submit the interest forms. According to the party calendar, the screening of the aspirants would be held on the 18th of January.
Primary election is in accordance with the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.
