The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, on Monday announced a two months extension to its 4weeks warning strike.
ASUU’s extension of the strike action by two months is coming off the non-agreement of terms between the university union and the Nigerian government. Some of its demands according to the union date back to 2009.

While the Nigerian government claims it does not have the financial resources to meet ASUU’s demand, the university union believes that the Nigerian government is not committed enough to solving the union’s concerns. To further effect its stance, the union has further extended the strike action.
What does this mean?
In the two months that the strike action would be on, all academic activities in all universities under the union would continue to be on hold.
