Academic Staff Union of Universities.

On Monday 7th December, ASUU Chairman, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke has said that the union is consulting all its branches across Nigeria to determine a strike verdict.

Why it matters?
Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) gave the Federal Government an ultimatum to fulfill the terms of their agreement deal. This agreement deal was the reason for the suspension of a strike action in 2020. Despite several meetings with the representatives of the Federal Government in which they made promises, the union said the Federal Government hasn’t upheld their end of the deal.

ASUU Chairman, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke explained that since the expiration of the Union’s ultimatum, there has been no word from the Federal Government.

Prof. Osodeke further stressed that parents, students and concerned citizens should hold the Federal Government responsible if another strike action should begin.
