Tragedy struck Anka and Bukkuyum local government area of Zamfara State as bandits killed over 200 people. A spokeswoman for the Minister of humanitarian affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq confirmed this attack.

This attack is a long-standing clash between herdsmen and farmers, which has seen many farm lands and houses destroyed. This crisis has seen robbery, kidnapping, killings at the hands of these bandits become a common event.
A report by villagers of this incident said that bandits were being impounded by the military when they stormed villages in Anka and Bukkuyum local government area of Zamfara State. There they killed over 200 villagers and burnt down many houses.
Villagers also told newsmen that the bandits have also refused the families of the victims from burying their loved ones, adding that a good number of bandits are still in the area.
President Muhammadu Buhari has, in a statement, condemned the killings and labeled the sad event “an act of desperation by mass murderers.”
