Notable charity donations in 2022
Some of the world’s richest people have donated heavily to humanitarian causes in 2022. The Indian billionaire Gautam Adani on his 60th birthday in June promised to donate $7.7 billion to a charity. Bill Gates earlier in the month promised to donate $20 billion to his foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This figure is $5 billion, more than the $15 billion the tech guru and his ex-wife gave to the foundation in 2021.
