On Wednesday, the Zamfara State House of Assembly impeached the Deputy Governor of the State Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Gusau following many allegations against him.

20 out of the 24 members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly unanimously voted for the impeachment of the deputy Governor of Zamfara State after a judicial panel declared him guilty of several crimes. The allegations against the deputy Governor were breach of constitution, gross misconduct, financial fraud and abuse of power.
The seven-man panel in their report to the state house of Assembly said that they carried out their duties with integrity and that the law does not empower them to disclose the content of the report to anyone and that they upheld. Having found Mr. Aliyu Gusau guilty of the alleged crimes, the lawmakers moved to impeach him.
