The House of Senate on Wednesday reserved their veto right to enforce the Electoral Amendment Bill following President Buhari’s refusal to sign the bill.

Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan, while speaking after an intense executive session of the House members, said that the lawmakers will accept the President Buhari’s refusal to sign the bill.
Dr Lawan further added that during the holidays announced by the Federal Government, the lawmakers will take the bill to their various constituencies and determine next steps after the holidays.
In related news, the House of Representatives have also decided to revisit the matter at the start of the new year. Leader of the House of Representatives disclosed this while speaking to newsmen.
President Muhammadu Buhari has earlier said that he would sign the bill if the clause relating to direct primaries is removed.
