The Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has flagged off a program to ensure that 50% of eligible residents of the state receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

Represented by his deputy, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, Gov. Ifeanyi said this initiative, supported by both World Health Organization (WHO) and National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) is targeted at fighting the virus. He said that the vaccination aims at 50% of the state’s eligible population.
While speaking on Thursday, the Governor also launched the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund Programme Implementation in Enugu State. He stressed that these two programs were the state’s “frontal attack on the Coronavirus pandemic”.
Governor Ifeanyi said that the state government had also successfully upgraded the health systems and ensured “the wide deployment of social safety nets and other measures designed to reduce resulting fragilities and sustain our livelihoods”.
