The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has announced Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th December 2021 as Christmas holidays. He also declared Monday 3rd January 2021 for the new year celebration.

People celebrate Christmas and New Year Holidays events all over the globe irrespective of age, color, and religion, although Christmas is a Christian event. During these periods, as it is the end of the year, many companies and organizations cease activities and go on breaks.
In declaring the holidays, the Minister encouraged Nigerians to follow the example of Jesus Christ in practicing peace, humility, compassion and other virtues that his birth portrays.
Speaking about health measures, the Minister said, “Moderately celebrate the festival without large groupings and observe all the protocols stipulated by medical authorities. Take it as a point of personal responsibility to prevent the spread of the virus.”
