The Federal Government through the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire has launched a health program named SCALES to increase the rate of Covid vaccination in the country.

The Federal Government giving statistics of Covid vaccination data in Nigeria says that out of the 64,113,760 doses of vaccination delivered to Nigeria, health practitioners have administered 24.8 million doses. This means that only about 18 percent of Nigeria’s eligible population are vaccinated as of January 2022.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Health said that SCALES is an acronym for service delivery, communication, accountability, logistics, electronic reporting, and supportive supervision for the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination. He said that the new initiative of the Federal Government is to build primary healthcare centers in rural areas of the country. The Executive Director of the NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, who received high praises from the Minister for expanding vaccination sites said this initiative will help people locate the nearest vaccination centers fast.
