In the early hours of Wednesday, reports from the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja say that fire has broken out in a part of the building.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire started when several expired inverter batteries exploded at the base floor of the building. So far, there have been no reports of casualties or major damage to the building as security operatives were right on time to put out the fire.
Reports say that fire extinguishers at the various parts of the building were helpful in putting out the fire before the arrival of firefighters. The Spokesperson of the Federal Fire Service, Abraham Paul, confirmed the fire incident stating that fire service men were working to ensure the safety of the building.
