Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha is to appear in court today as he faces a 17-count charge at a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested the former Imo State Governor, who was in power from 2011 to 2019 on grounds of his involvement in an N2.9 billion fraud case. Rochas Okorocha is facing prosecution alongside APC’s Anyim Nyerere Chinenye. The five companies named in the fraud case are Naphtali International Limited, Perfect Finish Multi Projects Limited, Consolid Projects Consulting Limited, Pramif International Limited, and Legend World Concepts Limited.
Rochas Okorocha, representing Imo West Senatorial district is being accused by the EFCC of diverting public funds for personal use. The former Imo State Governor, who recently declared interest in the 2023 presidential election, allegedly committed the crime between October 2014 and February 2016.
