Officials of Nigerian security yesterday attempted to arrest popular Human Rights Activist, Omoyele Sowore just as he was heading to the court of appeal in Abuja.

The National Publicity Secretary of the African Action Congress, Femi Adeyeye confirmed this event in a public statement. According to social media pages of the former presidential candidate, his rear convoy, was assaulted not too far from the court of appeal following a case the party filed against the Independent National Electoral Commission and usurpers. The suit was against naming Leonard Nzenwa as the acting chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC).

He also added that the victims were taken into custody by the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, also known as Abbatoir, and their phones ceased. Reports say that the security operatives gave the Sowore convoy a hot chase before finally catching up to them, waving all sorts of weaponry in the process.
