Operatives of the Imo State Police command have arrested Simeon Onigbo, alleged to be a bomb maker for the unknown gunmen terrorizing the south-eastern region of Nigeria.

The police operatives invaded a bomb manufacturing camp at Uba Umuaka in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State following an intelligence update of an illegal bomb making facility.
Current situation
Violence has rocked the southeastern region of Nigeria in recent times, with reports blaming members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militant wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) for allegedly conjuring the violence.
- Last week, the unknown gunmen and Nigerian army engaged in a gunfight which led to loss of lives and properties in the Orlu Local Council of Imo State in Nigeria during the Easter celebrations
- Also, there were reports of the bombing of police stations and government facilities in Imo State.

The suspect, Simeon Onigbo, when paraded, confessed to crimes bordering on illegal production of bombs. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Micheal Abattam in a statement said that the operatives recovered Improvised Explosive Devices, Fifty-eight pieces of Cannon Steel Pipe, Two Chisels, One Monday Hammer one and a half bag of Potassium Nitrate, thirty Pounds Weight of Sulphur, Forty Pounds Weight of dry Sand, Ten Fifty-eighth of Red Sand, Thirty Pounds Weight of Gunpowder, Half Bag of Charcoal, Thirty Electronic Motorcycle Batteries and Seven Lengths of Forty meters Iron Rods.
