The Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has signed a bill into law to allow women to get 35 percent of positions in the state.

This action by the Governor Abdulrazaq is to encourage women to run for offices in Kwara state. This news is coming at a time where the United Nations continue their 16 days of enlightenment on gender based violence.
Alhaji Adbulrahman says that this initiative is to give women a competitive chance to show what they can offer. He emphasized that there shouldn’t be limitations to what a woman can achieve, regardless of religion or cultural beliefs.
