The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has in a situation report on Wednesday announced the latest figures on the Lassa Fever situation in Nigeria.

According to official reports, the agency said that it now has a total of 358 confirmed cases in 19 states and across 65 local governments. Of the latest victims, seven healthcare workers in Bauchi, Ondo and Edo states have contracted the disease.
The report further explained that in total, from the first week to the sixth week of 2022, the agency has recorded 59 deaths and a fatality rate (CFR) of 16.5%. This rate is 6.4% lower than that of 2021 in the same six weeks period. NCDC further assured citizens that measures are in place to coordinate response across all levels in the country.
