The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has seized 9.3kg of cocaine from a 32-year-old Liberian named Maduabuchi Chinedu at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Why it matters?
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has recently re-echoed its commitment to fight the use of illegal drugs. In the light of this commitment, officers arrested a drug suspect on Wednesday 25th November 2021. The Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, Femi Babafemi disclosed this in a statement.
Babafemi said that the suspect claimed that why he pushed drugs was to raise money to pay his mother’s hospital bills for an eye treatment.
In commending the officers of the NDLEA, he said “the officers and men of the NAIA Command of the Agency for their vigilance and working in synergy with other security agencies at the airport, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) charged them and their colleagues in other commands to always remain two steps ahead of merchants of death who are daily getting more desperate to make money at the expense of the image of the country and Nigerians’ wellbeing.”
