The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in a media briefing alongside the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman on Thursday, named the perpetrators of the Owo attack to be members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Rauf Aregbesola, in his security briefing, claimed that the brutal killing at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, which claimed about 40 lives, had no religious base as ISWAP activities are not religiously related.
