Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady and wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has visited the senate to witness the submission of the constitutional report to the lawmakers.
Why it matters?
The committee tasked with reviewing the 1999 constitution officially submitted their report to the red chamber today, Wednesday 23rd of February 2022. The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, graced the occasion with some Ministers.
In the company of the First Lady was the Minister of Finance, Budget and Planning, Zainab Ahmed, and Minister of Women Affairs, Paullen Tallen, etc. During the session, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, moved the motion to accept the constitutional report while chairman of the Senate committee on women affairs, Senator Betty Apiafi, seconded the motion.
