A circular signed by the president of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, the General Secretary of the congress, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja and all the state chairmen of the union announced plans to embark on a 2-day nationwide protest in solidarity to Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). 

Driving the news 
The aim of the nationwide protest slated for Tuesday July 26th 2022 is to further pressure the federal government to reach an agreement with ASUU in order to end the ongoing five months. 

What they are saying 
According to the circular, the congress members would take off the NLC State Secretariats and the Labour House, Abuja.

In case you missed it 
ASUU has been on strike since February 14th 2022, following the non-payment of funds in several agreements between the union and the federal government, amongst other grievances. After a one-month strike and a two-month extension, ASUU embarked on a 12 weeks strike from the 10th of May 2022.
