NYSC DG, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim

“Nothing like two-week leave,” says DG of NYSC
The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibi Ibrahim, said in a nationwide address to corps members and camp officials on Tuesday that there will be nothing like a two-week leave after the orientation camp.

Why does it matter?
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program set up by the Nigerian Government to involve Nigerian graduates in nation building and the development of the country. Usually, after the 21-days orientation camp, Corp members receive a two-week to locate their place of primary assignment, register at their local government and get settled. With this new instruction from the Director General, they will expect Corp member to report immediately at their places of primary assignments.

The Big Picture.
In the address to the Corp members and camp officials after the completion of the 21 days of the orientation camp; the DG said “Nothing like two weeks leave after camp. The DG advised them to use the lessons learned during the three weeks of the orientation course to contribute their quota to national development and also add value to themselves.”
He also added, “As you leave the camp, you must be security conscious, don’t travel at night, and don’t endanger your safety. Shun cyber-crimes, drugs, cultism and don’t let your actions today haunt you tomorrow”.
