The ruling council of Osun State university has appointed Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye as the Vice-chancellor of the institution.

The Public Relations Officer of Osun State University Adesoji Ademola made this announcement in a statement on Monday. This appointment is coming following the expiration of the former VC, Professor Labo Popoola tenure on the 5th of November 2021.
In the statement, the chairman of the ruling council, Mallam Yusuf Alli, said that the institution appointed Professor Clement Adebooye as its 4th vice-chancellor with the consent of the state Governor. Mallam Ali praised the management, staff, and lecturers for their cooperation in the appointment process and further urged them to support the new leadership.
Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, who is a professor in plant physiology, has served at both local and international levels in various capacities. The former as deputy Vice-chancellor, Dean of Faculty, HOD, etc and internationally as Ambassador scientist, Secretary-General, etc.
