President Muhammadu Buhari has at an event in Abuja announced the launch of an HIV trust fund worth N62 billion.

At the launch of the HIV Trust Fund of Nigeria (HTFN), President Buhari assured Nigerians that this scheme would help the country win the fight against the virus. The President added that those living with the virus can live healthily as the scheme also funds their annual treatment. 

President Buhari further expressed his commitment to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country. He then called on the private sector to join the fight to sustain this response against public health emergencies. 

The President also praised the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) and the Nigeria Business Coalition Against AIDS for establishing a scheme EFCC that will ensure the birth of a baby free of HIV.
