Lagos and Abuja State Government lead the way amongst states enforcing vaccination of civil servants in the states.
Why it matters?
The Federal Government is enforcing a vaccination policy that all civil servants must be vaccinated or must present a valid negative coronavirus test result before gaining entry into federal buildings.
The Government gave a deadline of 1st of December to all civil servants to meet these requirements. The list has spread to visitors as they are now required to present a vaccination card before entering Federal buildings.
As reported on Tuesday, security personnel denied newsmen access into the Federal Secretariat where official ceremonies were being held. The security personnel demanded vaccination cards from journalists and others.
Lagos State Government has also stated that “all attendees of social events will need to present a valid vaccination card whenever demanded.”
