In the Zakka forest in the Safana local government area of Katsina State, terrorists have killed ACP Aminu Umar, the Dutsinma Area Commander of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and another police officer.

How it Happened
The terrorists ambushed ACP Aminu Umar and his colleagues, according to Katsina Police Command spokesperson Gambo Isah, who confirmed the death in a statement. The terrorists numbers about 300, he said.

He said: “At around 11.30 hours, a distress call was received that terrorists numbering over 300, riding motorcycles and firing intermittently with AK 47 rifles and General-Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), ambushed ACP Aminu Umar, Area Commander, Dutsinma and team, while on clearance operation of recalcitrant bandits/terrorists, in Zakka forest, Safana LGA of Katsina state.

“Therefore, during a cross-exchange of gunfire, the Area Commander and one other bravely perished.”

He said, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda, conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest their souls in Jannatul Firdausi on behalf of the officers and men of the Command.” He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to the onslaught against terrorism in the state that will continue until it is fully eradicated.
