Terrorists on Tuesday evening attacked the advance convoy of Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina, a northwestern part of the country. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, confirmed the attack on the President’s convoy.

What’s more 
Continuing a trail of terror, the terrorists also set ablaze the two primary health centres in the Batsari Local Government Area of the state which President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit just before the Muslim holiday.

  • The statement by the President Muhammadu Buhari aide stated that the terrorists attacked the convoy of security guards, protocol, and media officers ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura, his hometown, for the Sallah celebration. 
  • Dr Shamsudeen Yahaya, the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Primary Health Care Development Agency, stated that following the attack on the two primary health centres in Batsari Local Government Area the authorities had shut down 69 out of the over 1,800 healthcare centres in the state. 
  • He added that the affected local government areas include Jibia, Safana, Batsari, Faskari, Sabuwa and other frontline LGAs of the state.
