With Russia’s continuous invasion of Ukraine, the United Kingdom’s government has developed the Ukraine Family Scheme, where applicants can join family members or extend their stay in the UK. This scheme would help process pending visa applications faster.
Since the launch of the scheme, the UK has received 33,600 visa applications and has scheduled visa appointments for 10,900 applicants. It has issued 4,600 while it is processing 5,400 applications.
The announcement noted that applicants whose passports are ready for collection would receive a notice from the Visa Application Centre (VAC). According to the Embassy, there will be no fresh visa applications for school, work and visits pending the time the temporary suspension lasts, although urgent cases such as medical treatment could get an exception.
