As the war between Ukraine and Russia enters day 5, the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has listed the country’s peace demands for the war to end.

In the statement released on Monday morning, the President demanded an immediate ceasefire by Russian soldiers and a full military withdrawal from the country. Also, the 44-year-old demanded that the European Union includes Ukraine as one of its member countries. 

President Volodymyr Zelensky released this statement just as peace talks are about to begin between delegates of both countries at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. So far, Ukraine has accused Russia of bombing residential buildings in the cities of Zhytomyr and Chernigiv. 

As the war enters the fifth day, Ukrainian forces have so far been able to resist the force of the Russian army with western help.
